Route Messenger email replies to an individual email address

When individual users send emails, you may wish for any replies to go to that user's inbox as opposed to a central email address.

This setting is off by default, so to enable it you need to go to 'Tools' > 'Account Settings' and tick the "Reply to user's personal email where available" box.Reply to individual email setting

You also need to ensure that users have specified their email address in their user profile, which can be done from 'Tools' > 'Manage Users' or you can ask users to check their own settings by clicking on their username on the home page of Messenger.

To do on behalf of other users, if for example you are the Messenger Administrator, you can navigate to the Manage Users area;Edit User Email Address

  1. Find the relevant user and then click the Actions Icon.
  2. Choose 'Edit User'.
  3. Check, update or enter the email address that the user wishes to have their email routed to.
    • Note that this email address will be used for functions such as password reset and so using shared addresses is not recommended.
  4. Save your changes.

If you wish to check your own settings you can do this from the home page of Messenger Tiles;

  1. User Settings from HomeClick your username.
  2. Check, update or enter the email address that the you wish to have your email routed to.
    • Note that this email address will be used for functions such as password reset and so using shared addresses is not recommended.
  3. Save your changes.

From now on, any emails will be associated with a reply address based on an individual user's settings. Users can however, override the reply address when they send a message if required.

To do this from Advanced Messaging, simply change the email address in the 'Reply To' field. If you have used a Wizard to compose your email, simply 'Switch to Advanced Messaging' on the summary screen and continue from there.
