Obtaining the Emerge Device Identifier

This process differs slightly between device and platform. If you have previously run the App on the device in question against the demo data, then you should perform the following process on a clean device.

To do this we recommend you uninstall and re-install the App.

Uninstalling from an apple device...

To remove an iOS App, simply press and hold the app until it 'wobbles', then press the black x in the top left hand corner. removeiOS2

Accept the message confirming data will be deleted.

 

Android Device Uninstallation
Uninstalling from an android device...

To remove an Android App go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Chose Emerge > Select Uninstall > Confirm by selecting 'Ok'.

Apple Devices
Installing on an Apple device...

Install Emerge on iOS

Open the App Store on your device (or click here and jump straight to step 4 below);

  1. Select ‘Search’.
  2. Type ‘Emerge’ into the search box and choose 'search'.
  3. Scroll to find the Emerge App (if not at the beginning) and,
    • either select, by touching the App name, to read more about the App and see screenshots and reviews etc
    • or proceed straight to installation.
  4. Once you are ready to install, select the grey 'FREE' button located in the top right section of the App title.
    • The button will then change to a green 'INSTALL APP' button.
  5. Select this and enter relevant iTunes credentials.
  6. The green button will then change a 3rd time to say 'INSTALLING' and the logo will include a progress bar; once this has completed the button will change a 4th and final time to a grey 'OPEN' button. Pressing this will take you straight into Emerge.
    • Alternatively you can access Emerge from your device's homescreen (new Apps are usually added to the end of other installed Apps so you may have to scroll across to find it dependent on how the device is configured).

 

Android Devices with Google Play

Installing on a Google Play device...

  1. Select ‘Search’.
  2. Type ‘groupcall emerge’ into the search box and touch the search magnifying glass.
  3. Scroll to find the Emerge App (if not at the beginning) and select it by touching the App name.
  4. Once you are ready to install, select 'Download' button located in the top right section of the App title.
    • Accept any permissions or warning messages that come up.
  5. You will now see a progress bar; once this has completed the button will change to a grey 'OPEN' button. Pressing this will take you straight into Emerge.
    • Alternatively you can access Emerge from your device's homescreen (new Apps are usually added to the end of other installed Apps so you may have to scroll across to find it dependent on how the device is configured).

To use Google Play, Android requires you to have a Gmail account. If you need advice on how to configure your android device in general, there is a wealth of information available on the internet. Groupcall do not offer generic android support; we can only offer support relating to our products specifically.
If ‘Accept & Download’ is not displayed as expected, the device may not be setup for App Market use correctly so please see above advice relating to Groupcall and device support.

If your device does not use Google Play, Emerge is available in certain other third party provided Android App Markets. If you cannot find it in your usual App Market, please let us know.

 


 

iPhone/iPod

Open the Emerge App.

  • If you are asked to connect to demonstration server, click No.

Select the option most appropriate for your device/scenario.

  • You can either manually copy the UDID to then give to the Emerge manager, or use the in-built email function if you have an email account configured on the device.
