Messenger v5 LA Functionality

Messenger v5 has some powerful functionality to enable Local Authorities to be able to communicate effectively with parents, staff and students in their schools. You will have the flexibility and power to target any combination of groups; school staff, learners, parents, by gender, by year group either as a whole or by individual school - and any filtered combination of these.

There are 2 ways Local Authority users can make use of the LA functionality.

1. To message school contacts as a whole;

for example to send a message to all female learners aged 13 to 14 and their parents to remind them that health visitors will be visiting their schools to administer the HPV vaccine during a set period.

2. To target individual schools and message contacts on a more granular level;

for example to access school clubs or groups and make use of School Level Custom Groups and for more granular filtering of contacts. You can also, with the appropriate permissions, view an individual school's history and perform certain management tasks for that school account.

In order to use the LA functionality you need to have had your account configured as an LA enabled account by Groupcall Support. Please contact your account manager to arrange this if don’t have it and believe you should. The presence of this functionality will be indicated by the presence of a green bubble on the top right of your home screen giving you the ability to select from any of the schools linked with your LA account.
